Union Alumni Pre-Game Event for Friday, March 28
INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The Union College men's ice hockey team will return to the NCAA Division I Championship tournament for the fourth straight season. The Dutchmen, the #3 overall seed in the 16 team tournament, are the #1 seed in the East Regional in Bridgeport, CT.
Union (29-6-4) will face Vermont (20-14-3) at Webster Bank Arena Friday, March 28 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern. The Catamounts are led by former Union coach Kevin Sneddon. Vermont leads the series, 18-10-2 and the teams last met December 29, 2012. Vermont won 2-1 at home in the Catamount Cup. The East Regional games Friday will be on ESPNU and the Saturday regional title game will be on ESPN2. John Buccigross will provide the play-by-play and Barry Melrose is the color analyst.

There are no further sales at the Union College Athletics Box Office.
Fans not making the trip to Bridgeport can take part in viewing parties being held at Recovery Sports Grill (Rotterdam) and the Van Dyck Restaurant & Lounge. The games will be shown on large screens and special offers will be available to those in attendance.
The other East matchup features Providence (21-10-6) vs. Quinnipiac (24-9-6) at 5:30 p.m. The Friars are led by Coach Nate Lehman (who followed Sneddon), and the Bobcats, with coach Rand Pecknold, lost to Yale in the national championship game in Pittsburgh last season.
Minnesota is the #1 overall seed and Boston College is the #2. The Gophers are in St. Paul and the Eagles are in Worcester, MA. The #4 overall seed is Wisconsin and the Badgers are in Cincinnati.
