After 12 days without a game, the 17^th-ranked and third-seeded Union College men’s ice hockey team returns to the ice, welcoming seventh-seeded Quinnipiac to Messa Rink for the quarterfinals of the ECAC Hockey playoffs. The action will take place on Friday (Mar. 12), Saturday (Mar. 13) and – if necessary – Sunday (Mar. 14). Puck drop for each outings is slated for 7 p.m.

All-ECAC Hockey First Team selection and Union College men’s ice hockey senior #Mike Schreiber# was named a finalist for the ECAC Hockey Best Defensive Defenseman Award, the league announced Wednesday. Schreiber joins Cornell’s Justin Krueger and St. Lawrence’s Derek Keller as the nominees.

Three Union College hockey players have been selected as alternates for the 2010 Frozen Four Skills Challenge, which will take place during the NCAA Frozen Four Weekend at Ford Field in Detroit. Senior forwards #Mario Valery-Trabucco# and #Jason Walters# are the selections for the Dutchmen, while senior defenseman #Jackie Koetteritz# is the representative for the Dutchwomen.
