Tony Morello
Tony Morello closed out a stellar career with ECAC honors.
CENTERVILLE, MA -- The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced the 2008 ECAC Division III Northwest Football All Star Team on Monday, January 5. Union had two players selected, running back Chris Coney and offensive lineman Tony Morello. Both players had previously been selected to the Liberty League All Star First Team.

Jason Walters scored the game-winner in the second period
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – Sophomore forward Stéphane Boileau and junior forward Jason Walters each registered goals, leading Union to a 2-1 victory against UMass-Lowell Saturday afternoon at the 2009 Shillelagh Tournament hosted by top-ranked Notre Dame. With the win Union improves to 9-8-1, while UMass-Lowell goes to 8-10-0.

Boileau registered his sixth point in as many games and his career-high tying sixth goal of the season. He is second on the team with 15 points. Walters, who returned from an injury sustained on Dec. 5 at Brown on Friday against Notre Dame, registered his fourth goal and ninth point of the season.

SCHENECTADY, NY -- Williams College won both the men's and women's swimming & diving meets against Union Saturday at the Alumni Gym Pool. The Ephs won on the men's side, 171-125, and defeated the Dutchwomen, 188-107. The Dutchmen won the 200 free relay, which was the first relay win for the Dutchmen against Williams in Head Coach Scott Felix's career. The team of Todd Herman, Kevin Jung, Chris Heske and Steve Schapp took first with a time of 1:29.54.

SCHENECTADY, NY -- Union College won the 25th Annual Sig Makofski Invitational Tournament at the Viniar Athletic Center Saturday with a 54-43 triumph over Southern Maine. Steve Madej was named the Tournament Most Valuable Player and was joined on the All-Tournament team by teammates Drew Desmarais and Drew Goldstein.

SCHENECTADY, NY -- #Steve Madej# scored 22 points and #Joey Lokitis# and #Drew Goldstein# added 11 points each to lead the Union men's basketball team to a 94-60 win over Medgar Evers in the first round of the Sig Makofski Invitational Tournament at Union's Viniar Athletic Center Friday night. The Dutchmen, 5-3, will play in the tourney title game Saturday against Southern Maine (3-7), which defeated Rutgers-Newark, 80-73 in overtime earlier Friday night. Medgar Evers (0-10) faces Rutgers-Newark (8-4) at 1 p.m. in the consolation contest.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL – Sophomore goaltender #Corey Milan# turned away 24 shots in the Union College men’s ice hockey 3-1 loss to top-ranked Notre Dame on Friday at the 2009 Shillelagh Tournament hosted by the Fighting Irish in the Chicago suburb.

Milan turned away eight shots in the first, 10 in the second and eight in the third, allowing the Dutchmen to hang with the number-one team in the country.
