Volleyball Academy Information
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Registration for the 2013 Volleyball Academy held at Union College in the Memorial Fieldhouse and Viniar Athletic Center is now open.
The camp consists of two sessions, Volleyball 101 and Volleyball 201. Volleyball 101 starts on Monday, July 29 and ends on Friday, August 2. Volleyball 201 begins on Monday August 5 and concludes on Friday August 9. Each came the sessions run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Volleyball 101 is geared towards the beginner and intermediate player between the grades of 6-12. This camp is designed to foster a love of the game in beginner players. We will focus on the fundamental skills of passing, serving, attacking, and defense. We will provide lots of repetitions and feedback while also incorporating games so that you can apply what you learn and become a better player in a FUN environment.
Volleyball 201 is designed for more advanced players between the grade levels of 6-12. This will be an advanced camp offering a high level of training and increased individual playing time in a format similar to collegiate practice. Refining technique and exposure to the tactical aspects of the game is the key to this intense volleyball environment. This session is ideal for the experienced volleyball player striving to be the best. We expect players who attend this session to be very serious about learning advanced volleyball systems and training.
Check in for the camp will be held on the first morning at 8:30 a.m. in the Viniar Athletic Center. The camp will be limited to a maximum of 60 participants, and will be capped at that total. Pre-Registration is strongly encouraged to insure a spot.
