SCHENECTADY, NY - Union College women's soccer sophomore forward Melissa Mansfield has been named Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

 

Mansfield recorded five points (two goals, one assists) in two games this weekend in the Rachel Miller Tournament at RIT.

 

On Friday against No. 13 SUNY Oneonta, Mansfield scored the first goal of the game and assisted on a Jessica Strang goal in the second half to help the Dutchwomen secure their first victory over the Red Dragons since a September 16, 1997 contest played at Union.

 

Mansfield scored again in the second half of Union's 2-0 win over Penn State-Behrend on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Dutchwomen will return to action on Friday when they take on Buffalo State at 12:00 p.m. in the RPI Classic in Troy, NY.
