Yale Defeats Union

Gallagher made 27 saves in goal

SCHENECTADY, NY- Visiting Yale got a hat trick from Jenna Ciotti as the Bulldogs defeated the host Dutchwomen 5-0 on Friday night at Messa Rink.
 
The teams were scoreless after the first period despite Yale holding a 11-2 advantage in shots. Ciotti scored her first goal unassisted at 17:44 of the second period from the right corner of the goal over Dutchwomen goaltender Kate Gallagher's head. Yale would score twice more in the frame to take a 3-0 lead heading into the third period.
 
The Bulldogs would add two more goals in the third period to complete the scoring.
 
Yale led in shots 32-16. They were 1-for-4 on the power play while Union was 0-for-4.
 
Gallagher had the start in goal for Union and made 27 saves. Jackee Snikeris had nine saves for Yale.
 
Union returns to home ice tomorrow afternoon as they host Brown at 4 pm for Pink at the Rink.
