LEXINGTON, KY -- Union College senior
Eve Richards has been selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) New York Region All Star Team. She is one of 11 individuals selected to that region.
This is Richards' second post season honor. She was named the a Liberty League First Team all star on November 3.
This season, Richards became the second Union player to ever record 1,500 career kills. She ended 2011 with 502 kills, becoming second in school history for most kills in a single season. The Schenectady native was named to every All-Tournament Team in each of this year's seven tournaments. Richards had a high of 23 kills against RIT and a season best of 25 digs in the season finale against New Paltz. She had double figure kills in 31 of 35 matches and had seven matches with 20 or more kills.Richards led the Liberty League in kills this season and tallied 357 digs.
Union finished the 2011 season with a record of 20-15 for first year head coach
