Big Green Defeat Dutchwomen

SCHENECTADY, NY- The Union Dutchwomen entered the game against Dartmouth looking for their first ECAC conference win of the season. Union, however was unable to get the win against Dartmouth, losing 4-1 in the ECAC contest on Saturday afternoon.
Union played a solid first period with a one goal lead over Dartmouth after 20 minutes of play. Kelly Alyea was able to score the only Union goal of the game after receiving the assist from teammate Perri Maduri.
Dartmouth then locked down on defense and picked up the pace of offense in the second period. Dartmouth managed to score three goals on Union and held the Dutchwomen to only three shots on goal for the entire second period.
In the last period of play the Dutchwomen had one last opportunity to spark a comeback with two Dartmouth players in the penalty box. Despite several shot attempts, Union was unable to score. Dartmouth then scored one last goal to solidify the win.
Union goaltender Kate Gallagher had 41 saves in the game. Whitney Woodcox had 14 saves for Dartmouth.

The Big Green led in shots 45-15.
The Dutchwomen continue their homestand next Friday night against Colgate at 7 pm.

NOTES: Alyea is now tied for second on the team with three goals and third on the team with seven points… Alyea's first goal since 11/5 vs. Quinnipiac when she scored two goals… Maduri snaps six-game pointless streak with assist… Gallagher stops 40+ shots for the third time this season… Union scores first for the second in three games.
