Dutchwomen Fall to Big Green

Purvis scored her first goal of the season in the second period

HANOVER, NH- Host Dartmouth got goals from five different players as they went on to defeat the Union Dutchwomen 5-1 on Friday night at Thompson Arena.
 
Dartmouth took a 2-0 lead  at 3:46 of the second period. The Dutchwomen didn't take long to cut into the lead, scoring 11 seconds later. After the faceoff, Dania Simmonds made a quick pass to Lauren Cromartie who then pushed the puck to Mac Purvis. Purvis took a quick shot, and fired the puck past Dartmouth's Lindsay Holdcroft. The Big Green added one more goal at the end of the second and two more in the third period.
 
Dartmouth had a sizeable advantage in shots 34-9. The Big Green committed seven penalties but Union was 0-for-6 on the power play.
 
Kate Gallagher got the start in goal and made 29 saves. Lindsay Holdcroft made eight saves for Dartmouth.
 
Union continues road play with a 4 pm game tomorrow against Harvard.
