Hovsepian named USILA Scholar All-American

SCHENECTADY, NY – Union College men's lacrosse senior Charles Hovsepian has been named a USILA Scholar All-American, the organization announced Wednesday. Hovsepian is the second Dutchmen to earn the honor in as many years as Chris Keniath '09 earned the accolade a season ago.
 
Hovsepian, who hails from Hingham, MA, was named to the All-Liberty League First Team as a short stick specialist. In 15 games, Hovsepian registered seven points with five goals and two assists, earning him a spot on in the Lax World/USILA North-South Game on May 28. He collected 31 groundballs and caused 11 turnovers, helping Union become one of the top defensive teams in the country. The Hingham, MA native was one of four captains on the team.
 
A four-year football letter winner as well, Hovsepian was a named to the 2009 All-Liberty League Defense Second Team and was named honorable mention in 2008. During his senior season he was named the Dutchmen's Defensive MVP and given the Trainer's Award.
 
Hovsepian is sociology major with a history minor and is anticipating a career in the finance sector with a focus on financial solutions and planning.
