Kinkaid named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week

ALBANY, NY – Union College men's ice hockey freshman goaltender Keith Kinkaid has been honored as the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Kinkaid posted a 2-0 record, helping the Dutchmen earn its first sweep in the North Country since the 2002-03 season.
 
In a 4-3 victory against St. Lawrence, Kinkaid made his first career ECAC Hockey start and earned his first career victory, turning away 20 shots by the Saints. He made eight saves in the first, five in the second and seven in the third.
 
The next night in a 5-1 win at Clarkson, Kinkaid, who is 2-1-0 this season, again shined with 18 stops. He turned away five in the first, six in the second and seven in the third.
 
Kinkaid and the Dutchmen enjoy a week off before returning to the ice at the RPI Tournament where they will face Lake Superior State on Friday, Nov. 27 at 4 p.m.
