SCHENECTADY, NY -- Two Union football players have received weekly awards for their performances in the 31-21 victory over Hobart on October 3. Wide receiver
Justin Gallo was named to the D3Football National Team of the Week, and received the ECAC Division III Northwest Offensive Player of the Week and Liberty League Offensive Co-Performer of the Week awards. Linebacker
Steve Modliszewski received this week's Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week award. It is the first honor for both of these players.
Gallo broke a nearly 42 year old school record for receiving yards in a game with 246 yards. He had eight catches and three touchdowns, with scores of 76, 70 and 41 yards and broke the record of 237 set by Craig Carlson, also against Hobart, on October 28, 1967. Modliszewski posted a career and game high 15 tackles in the victory. He had five solo and 10 assisted tackles as the Dutchmen remained the only undefeated team in the league at 3-0.
