Jessica Critchlow resigns as women's lacrosse coach

Head Coach Jessica Critchlow
SCHENECTADY, NY -- Jessica Critchlow, the second winningest coach in Union College women's lacrosse history, has resigned for personal reasons. Critchlow's teams won 72% of their games during her five seasons, and she recorded a record of 64-25. Each of her teams produced at least 10 victories.

During her tenure, Critchlow guided the Dutchwomen to a post-season tournament berth in each of her five years. Three of the teams competed in the NCAA Division III Championships, and the 2008 and 2009 teams reached the regionals while the 2008 team competed in the national quarterfinals. That 2008 squad set a school record with 15 victories, which was equaled by the 2009 team.

Numerous players were honored during Critchlow's outstanding run. Six student-athletes received All-American honors. A total of 33 players received Liberty League All Star recognition, while four players received ECAC or Liberty League Player of the Year honors. A total of 17 players were named to regional all star teams.

Critchlow was named the IWLCA Berkshires Region Coach of the Year in 2008 and the Liberty League Coach of the Year in 2009. The 2008 squad recorded a #5 national ranking, the highest ranking in the program's history.

"It has been my privilege to work with the incredible student athletes at Union over the past five years,” said Critchlow. “This program has taught me so much over my tenure and I am grateful for knowing all of the players who have been in our locker room."

“Jessica has done a remarkable job in elevating our program to elite status,” commented Jim McLaughlin, Union College Director of Athletics. “She has recruited outstanding student-athletes who have brought us national recognition, and have helped build our program into one of the best in the nation on a consistent basis. We thank her for her efforts and wish her the best in her future endeavors.”
