SCHENECTADY, NY – For the first time in school history, the Union College men's lacrosse team had a goaltender named to an All-America team. Sophomore
Sean Aaron was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-America Third Team for his outstanding performance during the 2010 season.
Aaron is the third Dutchmen to receive All-American accolades in as many years. Chris Keinath was named honorable mention in 2009 and Jon Miller was selected the third team in 2008.
A Great Falls, VA native, Aaron boosted his résumé in 2010 by being named the Liberty League goaltender of the Year; he was also selected to the All-ECAC First team. He finished the season with the best save percentage (.702) and goals-against average (5.69) in the country. Aaron, a three-time conference defensive performer of the week, had made 12 or more saves in nine games, including a career-high 23 in an 8-4 at Oneonta State.
Off the field, Aaron was highlighted in the Jan. 12, 2009 issue of the
Great Falls Connection for his efforts in rally a community to lend a helping hand for a co-worker whose house was destroyed by fire. To read the article
