SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Union College men's swimming & diving team completed the first day at the UNYSCSA Championships hosted by LeMoyne College on Friday.

Steve Schapp highlighted the Dutchmen by winning the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:34.58, besting Stevens' Alex Benham's 4:34.59. Another notable finish in that relay was Brian Scarlett, who finished seventh at 4:50.43.

In the 200 yard IM relay, Alex Boyd finished fourth, marking a time of 1:56.57.

Over on the diving board, Ian Drillinger finished fourth in the one meter with a score of 431.30.

Kevin Jung and Todd Herman teamed up with Scarlett and Boyd to finish second in the 400 yard Medley with a combined time of 3:29.50.

The Dutchmen continue competing at the UNYSCSA Championships on Saturday.
