Nearpass, Drillinger, Prendergast earn Liberty League honors

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Three members of the Union College swimming & diving team earned Liberty League weekly honors on Monday.
Ian Drillinger and
Meredith Nearpass both earned Diver of the Week while
Maria Prendergast was named Co-Swimmer of the Week.
Prendergast shares the award with Rennselaer’s Tina Belletete. In addition, it is the second consecutive week that Nearpass won Diver of the Week while it is Drillinger’s second weekly honor this season.
At Rensselaer last Saturday, Prendergast won the 50 yard freestyle relay with a time of 25.27 and also won the 100 yard freestyle (55.75). She also was a member the 4x200 freestyle relay team that was victorious.
Nearpass won the one meter dive with a score of 241. She also won the three meter dive with a score of 245.35 while Drillinger won the one meter dive against Rensselaer with a score of 328.80, and the three meter dive with a score of 293.60.
Union heads to Williams Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
