ALBANY, N.Y. – Freshman Alana Marcinko was named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week for the first time in her career. The league announced Monday.

Marcinko played a key role to Union's 3-0 win at Brown last Saturday to give the Dutchwomen their first league win since 2004. The Altoona, Pa. native stopped all 47 shots to preserve her third career shutout.

In addition, she also has become the first goaltender to record three career shutouts in the Division I era in program history. Marcinko has entered a four-way tie with Heather Olney '02, Dana Smullyan '05 and Victoria Elkins '02 for the all-time shutout list.

Marcinko's .923 save percentage is fourth best in the league.

Union concludes a four-game road trip this weekend starting with Harvard on Friday at 7 p.m.
