Allison Cuozzo has named a 2009 NSCAA/adidas Senior College Women’s Scholar All-American, the organization announced late last month. The award is not the first of its kind for Cuozzo, who was already selected to the ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team. Cuozzo, the Liberty League Player of the Year, earns the honor for her performance on the field and in the classroom for the Fall term.
Cuozzo, a Norfolk, MA native, is a dual major in Spanish and Studio Art and carried a 4.0 GPA this past term. On the pitch, she had seven goals and three assists for 17 points for the 11-7 Dutchwomen. She was tied for sixth in the Liberty League for goals and was fourth in points. She helped lead Union to a league-best 50 goals and a 2.94 goals-per-game average.
A three sport star athlete in soccer, lacrosse and track and field, Cuozzo has been a six-time Liberty League All-Academic Selection and has been named to the Dean's List every term. Cuozzo serves as the President of Union College's Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
