SCHENECTADY
, NY Freshman Sebastiaan Jensen scored his fourth goal on the season and the Union College men’s soccer team earned their first Liberty League victory, defeating Clarkson 1-0. The Dutchmen improved to 4-2-0 overall this season.

The Dutchmen opened the second half with a quick response at 49:04 when junior Jamie MacDonald passed two defenders in the offensive zone and made a successful cross to Jensen around 20 yards out of the goal line.

But the Dutchmen defense were kept busy as in the 20th minute Clarkson’s Nate Hazen shot on a crossed pass hit the left goal post.

However the Dutchmen outshot the Golden Knights 15 to eight.

Sophomore goalkeeper Adam Margulies made three saves to preserve his first shutout and improving his goals against average to 0.55 on the year. Senior Brendan Steiner attempted six shots while Jensen had three.

The Dutchmen returns to action Saturday at College Park against St. Lawrence University in Liberty League at 2 p.m.
