, NY – Freshman Lauren Winchell scored her second goal of the season in Union’s 6-1 loss at Frank Bailey Field on Saturday afternoon. With the setback, the Dutchwomen go to 2-3, while the Thoroughbreds improve to 4-1.
 
Winchell’s tally came 12:13 remaining in the second. Sophomore Natalie Engel fed the freshman off a penalty corner. Winchell received the pass and fired a shot from 14 yards out.
 
Skidmore was led by two goals from senior Elise Britt, her fifth and sixth of the season.
 
The visitors also got goals from juniors Brittany O’Brien, Katie Potter, Carolyne McManama and Lauren McCarthy.
 
Britt struck first at 11:04 of the first, opening the door for five straight Skimore goals. McCarthy capped the scoring with 1:32 remaining in the game.
 
Union goalkeeper Sarah Rios made five saves in the game, while Skidmore’s Liz Catinella made five.
 
The Dutchwomen return to the field on Saturday, Sept. 26 for a 2 p.m. contest at home against Vassar.
