Bridget Graham and
Megan Kaknis have been named to the 2009 ECAC Division III Upstate Softball All Star Team.
Earlier this month, Graham had been named to the Liberty League First Team, while Kaknis was named to the league's second team. Kaknis also received CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.
Graham hit .398 with four home runs, 26 RBIs and 49 hits. She was named the MVP of the ECAC Upstate Championships, batting .462 in the tourney won by the Dutchwomen. She started in all 37 games in the Union outfield and finished the season with a hit in 14 of the last 15 games, hitting .538 in that span. She had four hits vs. Alfred in the ECAC tourney, three hits in four games, and three RBIs each vs. Skidmore and St. Lawrence. Graham had 16 multi-hit games and made just one error all season.
Kaknis batted .509 with 13 doubles, eight home runs, 43 RBIs, and had a slugging percentage of .889. She finished her Union career as the all time home run leader with 33. She led the Liberty League in batting average, RBIs and was second in total bases and third in doubles while being tied for third in home runs. She ranked 15th in NCAA batting and 18th in slugging and hit safely in 31 of the 37 games. She ended her career with a 12 game hitting streak and received Liberty League All Star honors while also being named a league Player of the Week during the season.
Union finished 31-6 and won a third straight ECAC Division III Upstate Championship.
