TROY, NY – Jun-Ho Ham won the shot put with a measurement of 15.07 meters to lead a strong showing for the Union track & field teams at the Capital District Classic at RPI Saturday.
Ham’s distance in the shot put and his 44.90 in the discus were the leading throws in the New York State and qualified him for ECAC competition.
 
Kaitlin Camilleri had a school-record throw in the hammer, 42.46 meters, crushing the old record by almost four meteres (38.84). His shot put of 10.05 meters also was a New York State A Standard.
 
Aaron Ray placed fifth in the shot put with a distance of 13.49 meters, a personal best and a New York State Standard.
 
Union had many second place finishes among the numerous competitors and events. Julie LaSpina was second in the women's shot at 12.21. Her mark set the school record by almost a meter (11.39) and qualified her for ECACs. Judy Horan’s fourth place finish in the pole vault of 2.89 meters set a school record
 
Kyle Bucklin took second in the 100 meter dash at 11.37 and was also second in the long jump at 6.69 meters. Davis Barber was second in the 200 meter dash at 22.73.
 
The Dutchmen won the 4x400 relay, clocking at 3:23.99 to qualify for the ECAC Meet. The team consisted of Phil Lambert, Patricio Guaiquil#, Barber and Bucklin.
 
Judy Horan was fifth in the 100 meter dash at 13.30. 

Union is back in action May 1-2 and the NYSCTC Championships at St. Lawrence.
