Bucklin Involved in Two School Records on Way to Being Named Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Week

SCHENECTADY, NY – Freshman Kyle Bucklin, a member of the Union College men's track and field team, set two school records at the 2009 NYSCTC Championship and on Monday was named Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Week.
 
His distance of 6.77m – an ECAC qualifier – in the Long Jump gave him the school record and a fifth-place finish. He was also a member of the 4x200 Meter Relay team that set the school mark with a third-place and ECAC hockey qualifying time of 1:31.92.
 
Bucklin teamed with sophomore Phil Lambert, sophomore Davis Barber and senior Patricio Guaiquil for the record.
 
The women's 4x200 Meter Relay Team also set the school record with a time of 1:50.86. The team consisted of seniors Julie LaSpina and Rachel Fitz and freshmen Courtney Steiner and Judy Horan, placed fifth with a mark of 1:50.86.
