Football team looks to end season with ECAC Bowl Title Saturday

SCHENECTADY, NY -- The Union football team will look wrap up the 2009 season with a victory at home at Frank Bailey Field. The Dutchmen, 7-3 overall, host Hartwick, 5-4, Saturday, November 21 at 1 p.m. in the ECAC Division III North Atlantic Bowl. 

This is Union's seventh ECAC playoff appearance, and the Dutchmen are 5-1 overall, 4-0 at home. Hartwick is playing in an ECAC playoff game for the sixth time, and last year, defeated Brockport 70-68 in a game that set an NCAA combined points record for a four quarter game.

The Dutchmen are ranked 10th nationally in pass defense. Senior LB John Peters, who is 13th nationally in tackles, has 117 tackles and needs just nine tackles in his final game to post the second most tackle total in a season at Union. RB Chris Coney is 20th nationally in rushing, and fourth all-time at Union in career rushing while his single season total of 1,164 stands sixth most in a season.

Hartwick WR Noah Koreman is ninth in receiving yards per game with 120.0 yards per contest. RB Tosh DeMulder is eighth in all-purpose yards in NCAA Div. III.

The game will be carried live on WABY-AM 1160.
