BABSON PARK, MA – Junior forward John Manna scored 3:52 into overtime to give the Union College men’s soccer team a 3-2 win at non-conference opponent Babson on Saturday. Manna fired a shot over a defender from 25-yards out and nailed the upper left corner, improving Union to 7-2-0 on the year, while Babson goes to 7-4.

 

Senior midfielder Ryan Banagan gave Union a 2-0 lead with back to back goals at 41:19 and 51:55. His first tally came with a shot into the upper-right third from 20 yards out. Freshman forward Sahr Nyuma setup the second goal, playing a ball that led to a Banagan breakaway.

 

Babson’s Dan Fogarty made it 2-1 at 60:46 and Ayo Iwuagwu pulled the score even at 85:43 with a header.

 

Sophomore goaltender Adam Margulies made five saves.

 

Union remains on the road with a Friday, Oct. 9 contest at RPI at 4 p.m.
